Urgent Intervention Sought as Engineers Assess Erosion-Damaged Roads in Nnewi South LGA

In a proactive move to address the escalating erosion crisis in Nnewi South Local Government Area (LGA), Mr. Ikenna Aniagboso, Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi South LGA, led a delegation of engineers from the Anambra State Ministry of Works to assess the extent of damage on crucial roads.

The engineers from the Anambra State Ministry of Works responded to Mr. Aniagboso's impassioned plea for urgent government intervention to mitigate the effects of erosion on key roads. The delegation conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the severely affected roads, primarily focusing on the Amichi-Ogbodi road, which has been completely severed due to gully erosion. The delegation also visited the old Amichi-Igboukwu road, where gully erosion has significantly impacted the local populace, particularly the residents of Iruakulu in Afube Village, Amichi.
